Feeling a little 90's:

GO GET THE NEW "FOUR YEAR STRONG EXPLAINS IT ALL!!!" These guys made a cover album of all the greatest 90's hits and it's extremely well done. It's crazy how influential music is to someone... well to me at least. You can hear a song from the 80's or the 90's and it really takes you back. Camping in the back yard, flat tires on your bike, hitting your head on the bottom of your neighbors above ground four foot pool, driving all over town to find the Hardee's Neon Green Slimer Sundae, playing all night with your Lego pirate ship, and getting sick from all the paper you eat off your candy buttons. Those were the days..
I think I've done this before, but here is another list of things that I miss. Things that they no longer make, and would make me more than a creepster to hunt down on ebay.
1. TACO BELL FRENCH FRIES!!! This has been a hot topic of debate for me over the years. I think my family was the only ones to ever eat them and many of my peers deny their existence. The truth is... Taco Bell had french fries. they reminded me a lot of Burger King fries, but to keep up with their standards, Taco Bell threw in a seasoning packet. It was little more than taco seasoning, but my mom probably walked around with 30-40 packets in her purse at a time. We put it on everything. Thanks Taco Bell...

2. SegaCD - NOT the sega CD2 which Sega started shipping with their 32bit system in a side-by-side configuration. I remember getting this bad boy. You had to have an electrical engineering degree to even imagine hooking this bad boy up. The games were allllllll the same, watching the side of the screen flash and pushing a button to execute something. A majority of the games were real actors on the screen and I'm sure never stepped foot in front of a camera before.... or after for that matter. "Looking at your resume here Mr.... Mr. Mad Dog McRee you say? Let's see... do you have any references?" One of the Sega CD games actually became banned in the US!! The games took years to load but one game in particular had a solution. Willy Beamish gave you these little rope type things you could move around and manipulate during the loading screens. INCREDIBLE...BRILLIANT!! RIP Sega CD... you'll forever live on my hard drive as an emulator :)

3. BOGLINS!!!!! You absolutely HAVE to remember these things!!! They were gooey latex monster puppets. A true feat of engineering. Not only did you have control of the mouth, but you put your fingers in these little sockets and you could move their eyes!!! It was creeeeeeeepie!!! I was not so fortunate to ever own one, but my cousin had two of them and wore them out. After a few weeks the latex would seem to melt and get sticky so if you dropped it on your shag carpet, and we know you had it, you would then have a furry boglin... not so much fun anymore. Correct me if I'm wrong... but I do believe my cousin actually stretched one over his face a few times... great stuff.

4. Battle Beasts!!! YES YES YES and YES!!! These were the GI Joes of the creature world. Armed with guns, swords, and axes these little buggers provided us with endless hours of fun. They all came in a two pack and you had to buy them by the "Element" which they defended with their life, Fire, Wood, or Water. As a spin-off of the "Transformers" they used the same "heat-touch" technology. On each of their chests was a little black pearl that you would hold your finger over to heat it up and reveal their symbol, much like the Transformers Autobot/Decepticon toys did at the time. Again... my cousin had everything, we had a big bowl full of these little guys, but my cousin had buckets full of them. It was just really cool to see everyday animals and creatures turned into a heartless killing machine. Okay... only cool if you're a dork...
5. HOT N NOW! I saved the best for last! Cheap and delicious, although I was only a young lad at the time. Back in the 90's you could get a hamburger for 42 cents and a cheeseburger for 62 cents. This place was AMAZING!! My grandpa would take us almost daily and we would gourge ourselves on cheeseburgers. It was the Taco Bell of the burger world and it was beautiful. RIP HotnNow.. although I heard rumor that there are a few left. Probably in Mexico..

So there you have it. My list of things that will never be the same again. I loved you all and you have truly made me the person I am today. I owe a lot to you.
PS: I tried my best to find a picture of the slimer sundae from Hardee's. If ANYONE knows where I can find a picture, I'll be eternally grateful!
