I've got another confession to make... I love the Foo Fighters! No really...
Honestly, I'm overweight big time. A friend of mine lost a ton of weight recently and has motivated me to become a more alert and healthy creature. I did a lot of geeky online weight/BMI calculators to check my ideal weight. Wow.... I'm not going to get into the numbers game but I need a lot of work. So to start this off right, I'm drastically changing my diet. I'm counting calories and trying my hardest to stop snacking (this is my downfall). I need a lot of help in disciplining myself to stick to this diet and exercise routine so I figured if I started a record of what I ate, then I would feel like I as being held accountable. So I started to write this stuff down in my little green notebook. Suddenly a light bulb went off in my head (ding!), I'm a computer scientist... we don't do things by hand anymore! Behold... the kinda cumbersome yet easy to manipulate (if you have excel) Weekly Diet Plan!!!

I started out working on a monthly plan, but it became quite large, so I stuck to the weekly plan. I know there are a ton of these things out there, but hopefully the addition of an actual food/calorie database will be promising.
Directions:
Put in the date of the SUNDAY, starting out your week. Even if you don't stick to the plan on the weekends.
Under that, put in your goal for total daily calories.
I've broken down to the meals of the day, and notice there are multiple rows for each one. You can add more if you need them. The next step is to start selecting what you're eating. That column has a handy drop down menu of glorious food items to choose from (including some major fast food!!!). Not on the list you say? Check out the upper right corner, see the button that says "Click here to add food to the database?" Click there, you can add your own and build your own database, based on the foods you normally consume.
I know it's not brilliant, and it has a lot of flaws and may not work for everyone, but it works for me! That was the original goal, I just thought I would share it with everyone in case this insipires people like I was inspired.
